La siguiente información está disponible para St. George Orthodox Christian Church:
The new St. George Church building is now open for worship in Fishers.
SUNDAYS: Matins, 9 a.m. • DIVINE LITURGY, 10 a.m. Saturdays: Great Vespers, 5 p.m. Wednesdays: Vespers, 6:30 p.m. See http://stgindy.org/index.php/calendar/ for the full schedule of services and events. Please come, and join us. Founded in Indianapolis in 1926 by Syrian Christian immigrants, the parish quickly became a home to Orthodox Christians of a number of ethnic backgrounds. We are a very diverse community today and open to all. At least a third of our membership is composed of 'converts,' who have come to the Orthodox Faith, rather than being raised in it, or who have no ancestry from a traditionally Orthodox land. We worship in English, as our common language, 'spiced' with bits of various languages in celebration of all our heritages and for ministering to some recent immigrants.

Our beautiful church school children singing "Let there be peace on earth!" last Sunday, Dec. 14, as part of their world premier performance of the play entitled "Raphael to the Rescue," written by our own Natalie Ashanin. Of course St. Raphael saves Christmas by being the peacemaker he always was.
Dr. George Kordis sketches the outlines for the icon of the Nativity. He works amazingly fast!
Fr. Nabil has been waiting a long time for this milestone day to come.
In this video, Constantine Stade demonstrates playing the bells for our new church. This is a joyful peal, such as may be used in a Paschal procession. Constantine set up the five new bells from Russia, along with our bell from the original St. George Church, on the lawn temporarily, so he could begin teaching us. He also advised us how best to set up the mounting and platforms in the bell tower, so the bells could be accessed and played.

This video shows one of the steel beams being raised into place and the beginning of bolting it. After all the beams are installed, then all bolts will be tightened, and everything will be welded together. Everything was going great, but then we hit a technical difficulty with the crane in the early afternoon, so please keep the prayers going! They will be bringing in another crane first thing Thursday morning. (What is that language they're speaking, you ask? The crew that fabricated the steel and is installing it came down from Chicago, but they are originally from the eastern part of Syria. They are Assyrian Christians, and they're speaking Aramaic. These guys have a deep devotion to St. George, so they love working on our church.)
